Pro-Davao POSTED AT 11:10 AM Got this post from Ina's Facebook. Read through it and it does make sense, the city of Davao if probably one the most livable and one of the most peaceful city in the Philippines, if not in the world. I haven't been to the said city but it sounds like it based on what Mr. Doy Valbuena wrote. (The town of Pagudpud is pretty livable and peaceful for me, but then again, we're talking about a city here). I do agree as well that the Commission on Human Rights is most of the time, hypocritical. Just my two cents. However, if Mayor Duterte is proven guilty of all the summary killings in the City of Davao. I will be one of people who will say that "The end does not justify the means". Anyway, read on... This is an article by Mr. Doy Valbuena. Looks more like a letter-to-the-editor. "I am Doy Valbuena, an Ilocano who happens to love Davao City so much, the most livable city in our country and in the world (this is my humble opinion). I love this city so much that it pains me to see outsiders come and tell us what to do with our very own Davao City . Imperial Manilans, Americans and Europeans come here and lecture us about morality, about what is right and wrong before God, about human rights, what is right and wrong governance. The power of Mayor Duterte emanates from the people who elected him. It is just but proper that the people of Davao City must have the first chance to judge him. But have we not judged him by electing him for the longest time as Mayor of this city for about two decades now? Is this not the best indication that the will and the voice of the people have spoken? That the people of Davao City approve of his way of governance? Why doesn't the Commission on Human Rights conduct a survey or referendum whether we, the people of Davao City as a whole, like how the mayor conduct himself on the issue peace and order and even specifically on the issue on human rights? I am very sure that majority of Davaoenos will come out voting yes in affirmation that will shame people from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) or shall I say Commission on Hypocritical Rectitude (CHR) masquerading as saviors of the people of Davao City . To tell us that we do not approve how Mayor Duterte runs Davao City is a great insult to the intelligence and courage of Davaoenos. If the Mayor is truly abusive of his power and has no respect for the rule of law and the right to peace and decency, I should be one of those who should be on the streets leading a rally of protesters as we wont to do during the First Quarter Storm when we fought the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos whom we thought then was the worst president this country ever had, only to find out that the worst were still to follow. (I led several street protests when we complained against the DPWH and the Union Cement when I was president of the Davao Constructors Association Center Inc.) I heard the Mayor mentioned many times over, that Davao City is a city for peace loving citizens. If you are not a peace loving citizen, this place is not for you because you will not last long to enjoy living in our city. His paradigm of drug pushers and drug addicts are people who can rape their sister or mother or an 18 month old baby girl or kill their father or brother or friend or neighbor in wild abandon. Now, I myself ask the question, why do these people who have no regard for the life of others continue to live or how can these so called human rights advocates even favor their existence over that of peace loving citizens? Am I saying that I favor summary executions? Of course not, this is against the commandment of God “Thou shall not kill”. How I wish we can all live in peace altogether living in pursuit of the summum bonum, the highest good for all. But alas, we are now left to choose by force of circumstance and select between lesser evils, whether to allow people who have no respect for life and the right of others to live and do it in wild abandon or to allow them to rest in peace forever and let peaceful loving citizens live happily ever after.. Now am I accusing the Mayor to be behind the killings? Of course not! That is for the court to determine. What I know is Davao City is the most peaceful and livable city I have seen on Planet Earth. (I have also traveled in several countries and continents of the world.) On the other hand, I am one among the many who believe that the Mayor is doing extremely and exceedingly well in the conduct of his duty in which he was elected for. Madame Chairperson De Lima, you need not have traveled far. You should have looked around and you would have your hands full investigating cases of human rights violations in Manila . Aren’t you not the proverbial character in the bible that the Lord would have aptly put, "why can you see the mote in your brother's eye and not see the log in your own eye”. The truth of the matter is, you just wasted valuable public money by coming here to Davao City to investigate and tell us what is good for us… Is this not the height of self righteousness and presumptuousness? Is it not stealing from the budget of education and printing misspelled books resulting to higher rate of illiteracy and lack of good education, a higher form of violation of human rights? Is it not dipping one’s fingers on the coffers of government finances depriving people of food, medicines, basic necessities and other social services; teachers of their rightful pay and soldiers of their shoes, combat allowance and guns to fight insurgency, a higher form of human rights violation? Is it not the inability of government to provide employment for its people and allowing Filipinos to work abroad as slaves of the first world countries who often times maltreat them and who sacrifice their own well being, just so they can provide for the needs of their loved ones, resulting in the breakdown and disintegration of the basic unit of society - the family an institution we value so dearly, a higher form of violation of human rights? Is it not the promotion of government officials with dubious and proven record of malfeasance and wrongdoing because of loyalty and subservience, so that they can deliver the goods to the powers that be, a higher form of human rights violation? For a young man who grew up and seen almost daily killings during my elementary years in Badoc, Ilocos Norte and having witnessed blood flowing down in my direction and with dead people all around during a town fiesta at a very young age of 11 when somebody sprayed 3 banana type magazines of his carbine rifle and emptying them all at the people in the auditorium…For a college student during the First Quarter Storm to have witnessed summary killings like that of my fraternity brod Billy Begg riddled with bullets from one whole Armalite magazine emptied in his lifeless body and street demonstrations from 1969 to 1973, culminating in the so called BARIKADA in 1971….. For a new college graduate to have worked in the hinterlands and logging areas of Mindanao in the 1970’s at the height of the operations of the MNLF, Ilagas and Bangsamoro Movement and having experienced being attacked from land and sea, and knowing a life of killing and being killed almost on a daily basis….. For an executive having seen Davao City during the time when Agdao was called Nicaragdao, during the height of NPA operations when policemen were killed in broad daylight and when a grenade was thrown at the inner sanctum of the San Pedro Cathedral wreaking havoc and causing the city populace to cower in fear… to name a few…...Madame Chair de Lima, I know from whence I speak. I know the difference between war and peace, between death and bliss. To consider Davao City as barbaric and a dangerous place to live in, is farthest from the truth.. Davaoenos would be the first one to know. Leave us alone in peace in this place you abhor for I repeat it again, Davao City is the most livable and peaceful city in the world. To us, this is a place closest to paradise. A Paradise in the East." Currently listening to: Mad Caddies - Drinking for 11Currently feeling: sleepy |

Smile! POSTED AT 08:48 AM I was so effing not in the mood these past few days. It may not show but I am. Lol... But anyway, seeing her getting better after her knee operation last week is good thing. I remember during the Holy Week when we were exchanging messages via SMS (anak ng tinapa, pwede naman texting lang), I asked her when she's gonna go under the knife (and where) and she just simply told me, "Keith don't ask, I'm planning to get in and out without anybody noticing it". I completely understand that, she prolly do not want everybody to see her in that situation. So I just simply told her it's all right and that I was just planning to visit her in the hospital and bring her tons of chocolates (she loves chocolates by the way) and she replied with "Ahaha... But nobody would like me when I'm grouchy. I will be in pain and I will be grouchy, that's for sure". So I told her that I'd still prolly like her in a joking manner and she just said, "harhar" so I replied, " Seriously, I'd still like you. I deal with grouchy people on a daily basis, I work in a callcenter, remember?” She didn't reply anymore, I prolly pissed her off. Haha... So fast forward to April 13th, she was admitted at the UST-Hospital. She went under the knife the next day to treat her bilateral recurrent dislocating patella (*nosebleed, I have no idea what the fuck it means. All I know is that there's something wrong with her both knees and it’s congenital). The ortho-surgeon had to tighten the lateral side and slacken the medial side of both patellas; again, I had a nosebleed. She was in the hospital for 7 days, I think. I have no idea because I didn't have the slightest idea that she already had her surgery until I saw her blog post in multiply.
After reading her post, I left a comment saying, "Oh, I hope you're feeling better now". She never replied, which kinda pissed me off because she hasn't replied to any of my sms for the past week which I completely understand, however, not replying to my comment and replying to other people's comment is one thing (tampururot ampota). It's kinda immature of me to be posting shout outs in YM and Facebook saying "Naturukan ka ba ng anesthesia, ang manhid mo kasi eh", I got that line from my friend and it actually made me laugh my ass off when I first heard it. So last night, while I was online, she suddenly sent me a PM via YM and asked if I was mad at her or something. She reminded me of what she told me about visiting her in the hospital. So I said I wasn't mad or anything to that effect (pero deep inside, medyo nabwiset ako nun kasi nagsusuplada sya). She's not that numb after all even if she was literally injected with anesthesia. Haha... The "tampururot" status on YM and FB did work because she said, "I thought your mad at me, na-feel ko eh." But anyway, it's just nice to know that she got through the operation without any problem. I just hope she can walk again soon. I mean, walk normally. She's got incisions on both knees, both 7 inches long. It's funny though, when she said that she's hoping that the scars wouldn't be that bad when they heal because she still wants to wear skirts and shorts. Lol. Oh I haven't mentioned that she's the same girl I helped out with the music video. I edited the music video for her, for free. I'm just gonna upload the video soon. The file is pretty big. Oh, by the way, she's a future M.D. Currently listening to: Magic 89.9 | Good Times with Mo |

Suicide POSTED AT 12:05 AM I
have been watching the news about what happened to Ted Failon’s wife. I
am saddened about this issue. This specific case reminded of me what
happened to my uncle a few years back.
Currently watching: Harry Potter on HBOThe Philippine National Police is basically acting crazy, sensationalizing everything that happened. They are acting as if everybody who happened to be in the residence of Ted Failon. What the PNP is doing right now made me wonder why this did not occur when my uncle allegedly committed suicide. I never heard anything about my aunt being questioned the way they are doing with Ted Failon. I am also wondering why they never invited the household help of my uncle at the Police Station to ask what exactly happened. I did not even hear about my auntie undergoing powder burn test or any of the other people in their house. I do not know exactly what happened to my uncle that fateful night. But it is pretty evident that the cops are not treating every suicide case in the same manner they are treating the case of Ted Failon’s wife. I am not sure if that is the case because my dad, who used to be a cop stepped in and tried to deal with the cops that day. But still, my uncle who supposedly tried to kill himself underwent post-mortem examination including paraffin test to see if he’s got powder burns and the result is negative. The entry wound and the exit wound is not consistent with somebody who tried to commit suicide. A relative from the National Bureau of Investigation who happened to be forensic analyst said that it is impossible that my uncle committed suicide. If that is the case, how come my uncle’s case was not treated the same way as Trinidad Etong’s case. Oh and by the way, did I mention that my uncle was wrapped in a carpet when my dad and his sister arrived in my uncle’s house in Antipolo? Anyway, as far as I know, my dad’s family already moved on from this ordeal including us. I am just being vigilant about what is happening to the family of Ted Failon. The PNP is now appearing to be sensationalizing the case and it is pretty evident that the cops are more like taking advantage of the situation to get back with all the clobber they received from Ted Failon’s television and radio program. Even the Department of Justice is having their own revenge on the poor broadcaster especially the secretary of the said department, Raul Gonzales. The DOJ secretary is even inquiring as to why the Public Attorney’s Office is helping out Failon’s family in this case. PAO already clarified that they are not just helping Ted Failon but they are more focused on helping the household help of Ted Failon who are already underwent inquest for what they claim to be “Obstruction of Justice” together with the other siblings of Trinidad Etong. The basis of the case being filed to Ted Failon and the rest of his relatives is that they did not report the incident to the police. If you are a “normal” human being and you saw your wife, relative or anybody soaked up in their own blood and you know that the person just tried to kill himself/herself and that person is still breathing and barely alive, would you even think about reporting the incident to the police before bringing the victim to the hospital? I do not think so. Human instinct would kick in and you will simply try your best to save that person’s life, right? I know very well that what the household help did with the crime scene is wrong. They should not have cleaned the bathroom because it would basically contaminate the evidences that can be found there. But I would have considered their reason for cleaning it up. They said that they cleaned the bathroom and the car so that the youngest daughter of Ted Failon would not see the blood pool. I think that it is a valid reason because a young kid should not be seeing that much blood, not to mention that it is her mother’s. If you have watched the news and seen the video of the arrest of the household help from the Failon residence and the arrest of the relatives of Ted Failon inside New Era Hospital is simply against their rights. They dragged the Failon’s household help into the police car as if they are already proven criminal but even if they are proven criminals, nobody should treat them that way. The siblings of the victim are also dragged into the police car, cuffed and held in the collar of their shirt and pushed inside the car. With all the video I watched, I never heard even a single line of the Miranda Doctrine. Pamela, the sister of Trinidad Etong already confirmed that the alleged suicide letter was written before her very eyes and she also confirmed that Ted Failon and anybody else did not shoot her sister. Truth is, nobody is filing a case against Ted Failon or any of the people that they have arrested, only the Philippine National Police. What would they get from doing this? The only thing I see is revenge. That is pretty much it. This case should be carefully observed by everybody especially the Commission of Human Rights because it is obvious that there are some human rights violation that happened. This case also shrouded the more important society issues like graft and corruption in our government and I know that a small lady is smiling somewhere out there. Currently feeling: pissed |
